The Forbidden City (China)

The Forbidden City

The Forbidden City is located in the central part of Beijing and served as the epicenter of the Chinese empire during the last two dynasties (which ended 1912). This massive fortress of wooden buildings (the largest of its kind in the world) is an architectural wonder and an impressive place to see in person. The famous portrait of Chairman Mao hangs over the south entrance overlooking the famous massive expanse of open land that is Tiananmen Square. Myself, Erick, Tool and Ice took a quick tour in the -10 degree C (14 F) weather on a crisp December morning, underneath a rare crystal blue sky.
