I have a bit, you're right, its not absolutely great, but solid. I was a Lonely Planet guy before I hit the road, but I'm liking the Rough Guides too. Actually, I'm starting to shy away from brand-name guidebooks lately, its now been more than once I've been sitting in a cafe or at some odd stop wondering what I am doing there only to glance around and see another group of lost looking people holding the same guidebook ;-) How to Travel Around The World in the Practical Nomad Series by Hasbrouck has been my latest reading companion in the how-to section. Though I'll post some other finds soon. Thanks for the tip! Maybe we should start our own boutique guidebook line, catering to the millennials with wanderlust like us.

have you read the rough guides "first time around the world" ? i'm reading it right now. it's not great but it has a lot of the basics.
